Description Native to: Costa Rica Philodendron sp. ‘Arenal, Costa Rica’ is a small vine perfect for vivaria of any size. The smooth, bright green leaves stay under 2 inches long in vivarium conditions. It tends to start sending out the long stem with nodes but without producing new leaves if the new growth cannot find a good surface to root onto, so be sure to provide it with something to climb on. To get a cutting started, keep the node(s) in contact with damp substrate like sphagnum moss, without covering the entire stem. It will root well into substrates like ABG or potting mix, but we recommend using sphagnum moss along with it to keep the plant from drying out.
