I purchased this tarp (12’x16′) as a shade cover over half of our outdoor dog kennel to allow the pups shade in the summertime. A little bit of history, last summer I purchased the same tarp, but in a smaller size (12’x12′) that I considered the ‘exact’ size that I needed. However, given the strong Indiana winds that we encounter on a regular basis, not all of the grommets were strong enough to hold up for the ~6 months that we require the shade over the kennel. So, not wanting to give up on this product, I took a different approach this spring and bought a slightly larger sized cover so that I could overlap two sides of the kennel. Held down with ball bungees, my plan worked perfect! Just this past weekend the tarp finally started to give (understandably so…we can get up to 60 mph winds many times between spring and fall!) but it was time to take it down anyways, so the timing was perfect. I think this product held up better than can be expected given our situation. I will be purchasing again next spring!
