I’ve never made a bonsai so I don’t really know what types of tools would be needed or even how to start so I was pretty excited to get this set. It has various tools for me to experiment with and figure out what works and what doesn’t. It’s not the best kit out there but for someone like me with very little knowledge about making a bonsai, I think it’s good enough. As I get more into the art and have more experience, I could always trade up one day. For now, it should work just fine. I plan on using some of the tools for my terrariums and also when I set up my containers of succulents and sedums this summer. I’m really excited about this! I have plenty of pruners and scissors but I don’t have some of the other stuff that are in this kit which is why I’m very pleased with it. I have lots of ideas percolating in my head about how I can use the little snips, shovels, scoops, etc. Overall, I thought this was a decent bonsai kit for a beginner like me. It would make a nice gift too and would help anyone get off to a good start. I actually wouldn’t mind getting a kit like this from someone if I were just getting into bonsai. I think the tools in the kit are pretty versatile and nice enough for a newbie so I would give it a 4.5/5.0 – 04/09/2025.
